You may enrol and pay a $195.00 DEPOSIT either using our online store. Please note that there will be a $5.70 PayPal transaction fee added to the deposit price for when using our online store. Or by downloading and completing a 2019 Application Form (PDF) or the 2019 Application Form Word DOC and posting with your payment. With the final payment due by Friday, February 1, 2019. Progressive payments are acceptable. The deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable.

Amanda will emphasise the students many already acquired skills with watercolour by teaching tricks of the trade, shortcuts and making maximum impact with your work. She will give two different demonstrations daily and will include landscapes, figurative work, abstract work, still life and an en plein air day, depending on the weather.
Day 1: Getting familiar with my Five Steps to Watercolour with two demonstrations. Morning: A river landscape
Afternoon: A boat harbour landscape
Day 2: We will get familiar with figurative work.
Morning: A fully clothed figurative work with a model
Afternoon: A portrait work with model
Day 3: En plein air day
Location to be decided and according to weather
Day 4: Fun with paint
Morning: A Floral still life
Afternoon: An Abstract watercolour
Day 5: We will be getting serious again and finding out what you have learned?
Morning: I will give you a lucky dip picture to paint. It will be similar to any that we have done all week.
Afternoon: A critique of the five days and a mini-exhibition.
Be prepared for a great workshop with a dynamic tutor. You will receive a requirement list closer to the workshop dates. Included in the requirements list is a model fee. Open to the experienced artist, 18 years and over.
Amanda Hyatt is a realist tonal impressionist artist who paints in the fast alla prima way of spontaneously capturing the moment and light. She excels in en plein air work and always paints full sheets. As a tonal artist her moody, light-filled, atmospheric and energised paintings leave an indelible impression. She has won many major Australian art awards including the Camberwell ‘Gold Medal’, the Kenneth Jack ‘Watercolour Prize’ and the Bale. Amanda received ‘Artist of the Year’ and the ‘People’s Choice Award’ at the Victorian Artists Society. She is a member of the Australian Watercolour Institute, a signatory member of the Victorian Artists Society and a long-standing member (25 years) of the Twenty Melbourne Painters Society. Her paintings are highly sought after and found in collections throughout the world. Amanda is a renowned national and international teacher of watercolour painting and conducts national and international painting workshops (e.g., the UK and Europe). She has a range of media presentations including three APV Films DVDs “Five Steps to Watercolour” and the Masterclass series: “Watercolour Landscape”; and Watercolour River Scene and a further two DVDs filmed by the Australian and USA television program Colour in Your Life. In addition to the DVDs and downloads, Amanda has a book titled “Lessons in Watercolour” available through Amazon books. In addition to painting and teaching, Amanda has written many invited contributions to art literature including Flashart (USA), L’Art de l’ Aquarelle (France), The Artist (UK), Australian Artist and International Artist.

Venue: Grafton High School
Please Note: All workshops run concurrently this allows you to only enrol in one workshop. Fay Boyd’s Fine Art School will be held at the Grafton High School. There will be twenty-two 5-day workshops on offer with tutors who have been selected to provide students with professional, expert tuition in their chosen form of the Visual Arts.
Grafton is situated on the Northern Rivers of NSW approximately seven hours north of Sydney and three hours south of Brisbane by road. Access to Grafton is possible via car, plane, bus or train.
WORKSHOP INFORMATION – Following your enrolment you will receive your Student Requirement List, a Models Fee (if applicable), and a map of Grafton plus general information for your convenience.
WORKSHOP VENUE – All workshops will be held at the Grafton High School. Classrooms will be allocated on the first morning of the School.
SCHOOL CAFETERIA – Lunch, Morning and Afternoon Tea will be available on Campus, pre-ordering of lunches will also be offered. Your support of this small local business offering fresh home cooking would be greatly appreciated.
MEDICAL ATTENTION AND INSURANCE – The organiser holds Public Liability Insurance only; students are advised to take out independent policies for sickness, accident benefits, and personal possessions should you wish. The Emergency Department at the Grafton Base Hospital is open 24 hours a day for any emergency treatment required.
