10 Chris Postle

Chris Postle

The focus of this workshop will be mainly acrylic painting techniques using texture, design and colour with some mixed media (charcoal, pastel etc). You will be playing with backgrounds and also learning many different application techniques. Exciting colours and colour combinations will be used, taking reference from nature and life and applying our own little twists. We will get a bit more adventurous and explore the unknown, and also resurrect some old works. For those not so adventurous there is always plenty of detail to apply which is included into the process anyway, a bit of fine tuning. Figurative work will form part of this exciting acrylic workshop. I will be supplying some reference material; these choices will be optional, so feel free to supply your own images, e.g. landscape, seascape, still-life animals & birds.  We will not be copying direct but using images to create innovative ideas and design; will demonstrate this using technology, cropping, Photoshop etc., simplifying things to some degree. A few of my favourites, banksia flowers and leaves, Melaleuca trees, crashing waves and more. Hopefully there will be way more fun than frustration. Inspirational background music will form part of this workshop which will add another way of opening your creative thinking and will enhance the 5 days of learning, sharing and exploring. I try to keep the process enjoyable with plenty of demonstrating, interaction, and hands on fun. Open to allcomers, 18 years and over. The model’s fee will be included in the requirement list.
